Is a Samsung Galaxy S III Already on the Way? [Rumors]

By Sam Biddle Oct 10, 2011 2:21 PM 18,173 46

Is a Samsung Galaxy S III Already on the Way?The Galaxy S II came out pretty recently, but Samsung no care—at least if this blurry, "leaked" slide's correct. Phandroid says what we've got here is a bona fide internal image of the next best Android for 2012.

Is it true? Maybe. Is it fake? Maybe. But the rumorific image claims a swell 2 gigs of RAM, a 1.8 GHz dual-core processor, 12 megapixel, and a big ol' 4.6-inch AMOLED screen. Given the specs of the last Galaxy S, this rumored III isn't that far fetched—rather, it just looks like a reasonable incremental push forward. Then again, it can be unwise to put stock in pictures that are almost too blurry to read. But true or false, the '12 phone season isn't that far off—we'll know one way or another soon. Even More Photo Evidence of a Bigger iPhone 5 Screen (And Home Button!) [Rumors]

Even More Photo Evidence of a Bigger iPhone 5 Screen (And Home Button!)We're about as certain as it gets regarding something you haven't seen that the iPhone 5 will have a big 'ol screen. There's been prior evidence—but here's even more! An iPhone 5 screen protector appears in the wild.

Unearthed by Hong Kong tech site Unwired.hk, the screen film also backs up the expectedly-widened home button. The dimensional difference looks to be the same illustrated by the leaked case from earlier in the month. We'll find out for sure soon! Very, very soon. [Unwire.hk via MacRumors]

Picture Proof That the iPhone 5's Thinner and Wider? [Rumors]

Picture Proof That the iPhone 5's Thinner and Wider? We already got a big clue about the next iPhone's dimensions from Apples own icon, but Italian site Macitynet claims they've nailed it: an iPhone 4 in an alleged iPhone 5 case shows a huge size difference. Skinny! Flat! Wide!

The gallery shows both an iPod Touch and iPhone 4 swimming with room in the iPhone 5 case, indicating that, yes, the next phone will probably be appreciably wider and thinner. Check Macitynet for the full comparison gallery. Everyone likes thin, but do you want a wider iPhone? Here's another shot, but check out the full gallery at Macitynet.

Apple Still Might Put USB 3.0 in Their Computers [Rumors]

Apple Still Might Put USB 3.0 in Their ComputersWhen Apple added Thunderbolt to their computers, many assumed that Apple's support for USB 3.0 hit the back burner. Not entirely true. According to VR-Zone, Apple's still looking to add USB 3.0 to their products and may even do it before Intel does it.

Supposedly, USB 3.0 host controllers have gotten cheap enough that Apple can now justify adding them in. Intel's timeline to include USB 3.0 in their chips is sometime next year. Remember, USB 3.0 is 10x faster than your USB 2.0 port now for speeds of up to 5Gbs (Thunderbolts is twice as fast as USB 3.0). [Vr-Zone via Apple Insider]
