
RIM's worldwide service outage cluster-diddle spread to the U.S. and Canada today, meaning BlackBerry's email and messaging has been knocked offline on every continent but (maybe) Australia and Antartica.
Email and messaging on BlackBerries go through RIM, so when their BBM core switch and its backup both failed, everything got utterly borked in a hurry. They're working to bring everything back up, and Canada's Pac Bell expected everything to be online this morning, but we're now into the third day of the BlackBerry outage.
