Sesame Street's YouTube Account Got Hacked with Porn Videos [Hacking]

By Casey Chan Oct 16, 2011 8:25 PM 17,569 60

Sesame Street's YouTube Account Got Hacked with Porn VideosSesame Street's YouTube was hacked earlier today by people who replaced Muppet clips with graphic porn. It apparently took Google more than 20 minutes to react to the hack, which means porn was floating around on the iconic children's TV show channel.

PBS and Google haven't said anything but according to CNN, a message posted on the Sesame Street YouTube account "claimed responsibility in the names of two other YouTube users". One of those users who supposedly "claimed responsibility", however, has denied any wrongdoing. His account, MrEdxwx, said:

"I did not hack Sesame Street. I am an honest YouTuber. I work hard to make quality gameplay videos, and most important I respect the community guidelines."

No one else has claimed responsibility for the hack. [CNN, Image Credit: TNW]

YouTube Adds 3D Video Conversion and New Editing Tools [Video]

YouTube Adds 3D Video Conversion and New Editing ToolsYouTube added several new features to its video streaming service including the ability to convert your 2D video to 3D format. I'm not sure why you would want to, but now you can.

YouTube users will also be able to mix it up with two new video editing tools, vlix and Magisto. Vlix lets you add effects and text to the beginning and the end of your videos, while Magisto takes a longer video and breaks it up into smaller, fun clips.

YouTube also opened up the floodgates for long-form video by allowing all verified users to upload videos longer than 15 minutes long. [YouTube via TechCrunch]

Some Guy Pranked YouTube Into Taking Down Justin Bieber's Official Videos Because of a Fake Copyright Claim [YouTube]

Some Guy Pranked YouTube Into Taking Down Justin Bieber's Official Videos Because of a Fake Copyright ClaimYouTube is big fat no fun having missy when it comes to copyright rules. They're so afraid of pissing somebody off (and getting a lawsuit) that they'll even pull official videos now. Like today, when a prankster submitted a copyright claim against Justin Bieber's Vevo and YouTube took down his page.

It effected more than little Biebs too, iLCreation filed copyright claims against Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Bruno Mars and other artists and some of their videos were pulled immediately too. How does this happen? Well, YouTube didn't even need to see any form of verification that iLCreation had the right to request the take downs.

Vevo's statement:

"Someone is making false copyright claims against the Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga channels and YouTube has blocked access to the videos as a result. We are working with YouTube to resolve ASAP."

It took a few hours for the videos to be restored but it's amazing YouTube's system allowed the videos to be taken down in the first place. It's VEVO! It's Justin Bieber! What will all the tweenies do without their boytoy's videos? [DMW Media via Geekosystem, Image Credit: Popblerd]
