Channel Master TV Will Let You Cut The Cord And Keep The Sports [Video]

Channel Master's newest DVR is a cord cutters dream. It lets users record over-the-air programming so they can ditch cable and still follow their local news and sports. And there's no monthly fee, just the cost of the device.

Besides OTA television, the Channel Master TV also streams VUDU content. VUDU is a nice add-on, but it does have a limited video catalog. It's too bad the device doesn't include some of the larger services like Netflix or Amazon Video.

On the hardware side, the OTA DVR includes WiFi, a 320 GB hard drive to store 35 hours of HD video, and variety of audio and video outputs to connect to your TV. The Channel Master TV is on the pricey side. It'll cost you $400 when it ships this November. [Channel Master and Crave]

Burton's Mix Master Gloves Can Wirelessly Control Your iPhone (Sort Of) [Video]

With winter slowly approaching, these scarf-less, glove-less, care-free days are going to disappear. And when that happens, your iPhone is going to be a bitch to use. Not with Burton's Mix Master Gloves though, it's a pair of mittens that can control your iPhone without even touching it.

It's not as insanely cool as it sounds but it's still kinda, sorta effective. Here's how it works: there's a dongle you plug into your iPhone and a receiver that's attached to the left glove. There are buttons on the left glove that let you control your iPhone's music player (volume, play/pause, skip, etc.) so when you hit those buttons, your iPhone wil respond accordingly. It's only for controlling the music player, there's no Minority Report-type wizardry here.

Still, it's perfect for snowboarders, skiiers and people like me, who will walk to work during winter and would prefer happy tunes and warm fingers to cheer me up. The remote works within a 100ft radius and costs $160. [Burton via TrendHunter]
