Does Google's Own CEO Even Use Google+ Anymore? [Google+]

Does Google's Own CEO Even Use Google+ Anymore? Here you see Larry Page's public Google+ page. And that he hasn't updated it in a month. Now, granted, he could very well be having a Plus Party for his Circles in there, but given the recent drop in public activity... Not a good look. [NetworkWorld]

Here's A Way To Break Google's Search Page [Google]

Here's A Way To Break Google's Search Page There's an interesting glitch on Google's search page that'll misalign the page content when you search for the string "${". It doesn't appear to be serious; just surprising to see Google's mighty coders make a mistake like this.

There are lively discussions on Hacker News and StackOverflow as people try to figure out why this is happening. Google has not responded and it will likely be fixed quickly, so check it out while you can. You can test it using this link. Enjoy! [Google via Bryan English]

Google's South Korea HQ Got Raided by Antitrust Officials [Google]

Google's South Korea HQ Got Raided by Antitrust OfficialsGoogle is about to undergo yet another antitrust investigation for its alleged monopolistic business practices, this time in Seoul, Korea. Regulators from the Korean Fair Trade Commission raided their Seoul offices yesterday as the first salvo in the probe.

The raid comes out of a joint complaint made by major Korean mobile internet firms NHN Corp and Daum Communications, stating that Android phones' default use of the Google search engine makes it nigh impossible for other services to compete. Google fired back by stating it does not require manufacturers to use its software on Android handsets. It has since pledged to work with the KFTC to work through the matter. [Reuters, WSJ]

Google's Product Bloodbath: The Full Rundown [Google]

Google's Product Bloodbath: The Full Rundown Google makes dozens of products we use everyday—they've killed plenty of disappointments, too. Now Google's getting trigger-happy on some of its babies. Here's a list of what they're knocking off to make way for the bigger and better.

Aardvak
Google bought the social question and answer service Aardvark in 2010. Don't be surprised if they build some Aardvark's functionality into Google+.

Google Desktop
Google's desktop widget allows you to search the web, email, as well as files on your computer. Google says that now that people do everything in the cloud, it's no longer useful. Google will say goodbye to Desktop on September 14th.

Google Pack
Google's free software bundle—applications like Skype, Abobe Acrobat Reader, and Google Earth—will also be knocked off. Google says people don't download software anymore.

Sidewiki
Google's browser exstention allows you to make comments on a website with your Google account. It was supposed to be a way for users to share suggestions with a website's author. Google wants to shift its focus on to other social products (read: Google+). Off with its head!

The other, smaller products that killed of today include:

Fast Flip
Google Maps API for Flash
Google Web Security
Image Labeler
Notebook
Subscribed Links

Full details of the massacre can be found on Google's blog. [Google]
